Superelastic Nitinol wire in various diameters and lengths. This magical wire is extremely resilient, springy, and strong. The wire performs best at temperatures above freezing and below 40C. At those temperatures the wire exhibits super-elastic properties, which allows it to stretch up to 8% of its length without experiencing plastic deformation (getting damaged). This makes it great for spring or shock absorption devices. The wire is very difficult to damage making it great for antennas and other structures that need to retain their shape in adverse conditions. The surface of the wire is covered in a thin layer of oxide that has a very low coefficient of friction, which helps this wire prevent snagging.
